Kids Electric Scooters

Jump on for your next adventure! Electric scooters are an awesome upgrade for kids with a need for speed. Simply charge up and enjoy. From expert brands like Li-Fe and Globber, our junior electric scooters are made for safe play with features like efficient braking, controlled acceleration and deceleration, LCD screens, and adjustable handlebars. Suitable for 8 years and up, these models have a maximum speed between 7.5 - 12.5kph.

What Age Can Kids Ride An Electric Scooter?

Our e-scooters have different age suitabilities. For example, the Li-Fe Electric Tri-Scooter can be used by 3-year-olds and up because it is smaller and less powerful. This gives little ones a taste of the motorised scooter, but it is much more manageable for their development stage.

Once they get a little older, the Globber E-Motion is a great choice for 6-8-year-olds, depending on their balance and confidence. These go up to 8-10 kph but are shorter and lighter, making them suitable for smaller kids. For the most power, the Li-Fe Electric Lithium Scooter can go up to 12.5kph and lasts for up to 30km, so is recommended for 14 years and up.

Where Can You Use An Electric Scooter?

Despite the growing popularity, it's important to remember that electric scooters are not legal on public roads and pavements in the UK. This means that powered scooters, even one for children, are only allowed to be ridden on private property.

Kids E-scooter Safety Tips

As electrical equipment, it's especially important to follow safety advice on storing, using, and maintaining these scooters. Electric scooters are considered safe for children as long as they are taught how to ride mindfully.

  • Wear protective gear
  • Always inspect the scooter before each ride – especially the throttle and brakes
  • Always use lights when riding in the evening and night time
  • If there is any visible damage, including to the charging cable, stop using the scooter and get it checked out. Internal damage can cause an electrical fire, even if it seems minor on the outside.
  • Store the electric scooter somewhere dark and cool – avoid direct sunlight, and high and low temperatures, which can all interfere with the electrical components
  • Supervise young riders, especially when they are learning the controls and handling
  • Avoid riding on uneven surfaces like gravel or rocky paths
  • Purchasing from a reputable retailer like The Entertainer ensures that you are receiving a product that meets regulation standards and any faults can be handled by the manufacturer, keeping your child safe. Every electric scooter should come with manufacturer information, operating instructions, and a consumer warranty.
